Starting at Portadown Boat Club (Meadows Shopping Centre, BT62 3TN) we will travel up the towpath to Newry and onto Dundalk 36miles/58kms where our first stop is DKIT Campus.
After refreshments we will travel towards Navan to celebrate The Summer Solstice at the iconic Hill of Tara 40miles/62Kms. Michael from Maguire’s at Tara has generously donated more cycling fuel to replenish our spirits. This is sure to be an unforgettable experience as we watch the sun come up on the ceremonial and mythical capital of Ireland, and the seat of the High Kings of Ireland.
Then it’s on to Dublin for our final leg and shortest distance of the journey 22miles/36kms. Passing through the Castleknock gates of Phoenix Park there will be a mixture of relief and accomplishment. We will then exit via the Cabra gate and onwards to Cabra Community Centre. Here there will be a congratulatory reception and much celebration!

Alternative distance options are available for those not wanting to cycle the full 100 miles:
Option One – 36 miles Portadown to Dundalk
Option Two – 62 miles Dundalk to Dublin via Tara
Each peloton will be guided by 2 motorbike/car marshals at the front and rear so no-one will get lost and camaraderie will be fostered. We will cover approximately 100miles/160kms, which will be broken down into manageable distances.
