ChallengeHer 2025 is perhaps our most daring and challenging sportive yet. Not only are we challenging you to cycle almost 100 miles/160kms but we’re asking you to complete it overnight during the longest day of the year: The Summer Solstice. To that end, we will be visiting The Hill of Tara where the high kings of Ireland celebrated the Solstice in bygone days.

ChallengeHer Cycling Sportive is designed by women to encourage more females into this wonderful sport. Since our conception, we can safely say we have achieved our goal.

We invite all genders to join us for the challenge of improving your fitness, having a sense of achievement and enjoying the reward at Cabra Community Sport’s Centre, Dublin at the end.

This year our nominated charity  is the well-deserving Pieta who rely heavily on public donations to support their worthy cause. As part of their ‘Darkness into Light’ fundraiser, we hope to raise much needed funds so they can continue to provide this important service.

We would also invite you to visit The Ann McGeeney Trust Fund who was the woman who inspired this sportive.

Register now for a fun night of exercise, achievement, camaraderie and reward. Your healthier lifestyle starts here.

Inspired by Ann McGeeney

Ann lived life to the full. She was devoted to her family, her career and her sports interests. In her ‘Peace and Reconciliation’ work, she was passionate about bringing local communities together, particularly in the border areas where this Sportive is taking place.

She loved adventurous sports such as, mountaineering, rock climbing, canoeing, running, swimming and triathlons. During her final years she enjoyed biking, particularly mountain-biking. Ann was very enthusiastic, promoting sport particularly to women and believed in the physical and mental benefits of exercise. She always relished a challenge.
